One of our relieved clients

When faced with the most difficult time in mine and my children's lives, Separation Support Network was exceptional in helping us deal with every aspect of the separation from counselling, to helping me work out my priorities and goals. I found them to be dedicated, passionate, professional and confidential, and I saved a fortune in the process.

Anita

Hi, I'm Susan.

Having completed a Law degree majoring in psychology and then witnessing the devastating impact lengthy, bitter, expensive family court fights had on everyone in a family (in the short and long term), our CEO, Susan Crain, became disillusioned with the legal system. She was determined to find ways to offer alternate solutions for her clients that didn’t take such a huge financial, legal, emotional, and physical toll on them. Decades later, Susan’s strategies have proven highly successful for hundreds of clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Separation Support Network was established and commenced operating as a social enterprise offering wrap-around, one-on-one services, resources, and support networks to Australian and New Zealand clients considering separation, going through separation, or emerging from divorce.

We offer our clients genuine emotional support to reduce their overwhelm and uncertainty, give them access to resources and services to improve their safety, provide education and guidance on processes and documentation, and guide them on options and strategies to resolve parenting arrangements and financial matters without the onerous expense, conflict, and stress that Family Court battles inevitably create.

We also pride ourselves on the range of support we offer our clients after the paperwork is complete. We love seeing our clients develop the confidence, skills, and resources to enable them to emerge and adapt to the next chapter of their lives, and, where applicable, maintain effective co-parenting arrangements.

Our clients have access, where required, to ongoing counselling, life coaching, social networking, financial planning, legal support (for matters including amending wills and trusts and conveyancing), mortgage broking, property valuations and sales, career support, and co-parenting programs.

Questions Everyone Asks

While we will endevour to answer all your questions on the call, here are a few we get all the time.

We discuss what stage of separation you are in, what your biggest concerns are, your aims, the priorities, and how we can assist you best going forward.

The 15 minute consultation is a one off free call with our separation coach to discuss your needs. There are absolutely no obligations in relation to booking for paid services or purchasing any products during or after the call.

Yes of course, very welcome.

We set up Separation Support Network as a social enterprise business to better support clients going through Separation and Divorce to find less stressful, better supported, more amicable, affordable, fairer options and to provide more effective, safer solutions for those in need.

A Separation and Divorce coach is a qualified person who empowers you through separation by focusing on understanding family law, decision-making, communication strategies and achieving your own outcomes and future goals. With a background in law and counselling, we have helped our clients for over 30 years to achieve these outcomes.

Out coaches provide you not only with the emotional support you need to get through this tough time but also assisting with getting you organised with your legals, financials, life and parenting, educated on options, source and organise your documentation, help you with your safety planning, strategise to better achieve your goals, manage conflict, improve communication with your former partner, and save on legal fees in the long run by providing clarity and direction.

No, Separation and Divorce Coaching is not legal advice. A coach supports you in decision-making and understanding the process, but legal advice should come from a lawyer. We can assist you in sourcing a well-regarded lawyer who will help provide the advice, as and when needed.

We have helped hundreds of clients save on legal and financial costs through effective conflict management, decision-making, better preparedness, and education, which in turn has significantly reduced the need for extensive lawyer involvement, who are regularly charging between $400-$800 an hour. A lot of the legwork can be done at a much more affordable rate with a lot greater support.

Yes, we help our clients at every stage of the process – pre and post-divorce. We help our clients get clarity on their decisions, provide additional counselling and relationship support as required to help guide them, get them well prepared for the difficult conversations if they proceed, draft a separation plan so they have considered the key issues ahead of them, source key documents, assist with safety exit strategies, and prioritise their wellness in the process.

Although Susan has a legal background, she works as a separation and divorce coach providing overall guidance on legal and financial matters. Where required throughout the process, Separation Support Networks can assist you to find a lawyer, if and when needed, to confirm your legal position and give legal advice.
